We are grateful to Paul Masterson, writer for The Shepherd Express in highlighting the history of the church and the accomplishments that have occurred over the past 50 years. “As the LGBTQ liberation movement began to mobilize in response to the Lavender Scare of the 1950s, the community’s infrastructure from athletics to political advocacy and healthcare developed as well. Spirituality, too, would be addressed.
